The Starr School Presents: Essential Hat Blocks
My most popular blog post by far has been "8 Essential Hat Blocks for a New Milliner" ~ it's obviously a topic you are interested in and one that I am passionate about!
Each hat block in my collection is unique and engineered for a specific style or function. The hand-carved wooden blocks date from the early 20th century to today. I treasure them all but there are some blocks I use repeatedly. They are essential workroom tools and well worth the monetary investment.
Please join me for a FREE one hour presentation on Saturday, November 21st at 11 am CST (12 noon EST). I'll share a bit of hat block history and lots of blocks from my personal collection, focusing on the most-used well-loved forms but also sharing some rare and unusual examples. I'll explain how blocks are used and why they don't always resemble the finished hat.
Presentation will be held on Zoom. There will be time for questions at the end. You do not need a Zoom account to attend.
